Alta Care Group Announces New CEO After 10 Years
After four decades of dedicated work and leadership, Joe Shorokey, CEO of Alta Care Group, is set to retire, marking the end of an era for the nonprofit organization that has profoundly impacted children and families across the Mahoning Valley. Stepping into the role as of March 31, 2025, will be Vince Paolucci, M.S. Ed., LPCC-S, LICDC, who brings a wealth of experience in behavioral health and a deep passion for serving youth and families.
Founded to support the social, emotional, behavioral, educational, and physical well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults, Alta Care Group has evolved into a cornerstone of the community. Under Shorokey’s leadership, the organization has expanded significantly, now serving over 3,000 families through its two primary divisions: Alta Behavioral Healthcare and Alta Head Start.
Reflecting on his tenure, Shorokey expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead such a transformative organization.
“Leading Alta Care Group has been the honor of my career. I’ve been privileged to work alongside an incredible team that truly cares about making a difference in children’s lives. I am confident that Vince’s leadership will continue to drive our mission forward with the same vision, passion and dedication,” Shorokey said.
Paolucci, who has been with Alta Care Group since 2017 and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, brings nearly 30 years of experience in behavioral health. His career began in 1994, engaging in many direct service roles, including case manager and home and school-based therapist. He has also held various leadership roles, including director-level positions at the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Paolucci shared his enthusiasm for the future, stating “I am excited and honored to take the next step in my career. Helping children and their mental health has always been my passion, and I look forward to continuing and expanding the incredible work Alta Care Group does. My goal is to continue the development and strengthening of our programs that provide critical support to children and families in need.”
With Paolucci at the helm, Alta Care Group is poised for continued growth, reaffirming its commitment to high-quality care and innovative social, emotional, behavioral and educational services for the Mahoning Valley’s children and families.
